Chris Allen’s Taking Talents To Iowa State

We’re getting tired of that headline, too. But we had to use it one last time. On a real note, MLive reports: “Former Michigan State basketball player Chris Allen announced today that he will enroll at Iowa State for the coming semester. The senior-to-be will redshirt next season then be eligible to play his final year in 2011-12. Allen was dismissed from the Spartans team earlier this month after a series of unspecified shortcomings. He was suspended during the Big Ten Tournament when head coach Tom Izzo said he ‘needed to be a better teammate.’ Allen, a shooting guard and regular starter last season, made his announcement in a press release through Michigan State. I’m excited to select Iowa State as the place to finish my college basketball career,’ he said in the release. ‘I’ll miss Michigan State and all the people that have helped me and supported me over the last three years. My teammates and I achieved a lot together and I’ll take that experience with me to help my new team. I’ll be pulling for Michigan State next year and I know they’ll be cheering for me. Like all college kids, I have areas to grow. This has been a wake-up call for me, and one that will ultimately make me stronger as a player and a person.'”
