Chris Paul Questionable for Game 1 vs the Houston Rockets

The LA Clippers escaped an epic first-round war with the San Antonio Spurs, and could now be heading into a semifinal Playoff series against the Houston Rockets without Point God Chris Paul.

CP3 gutted through a left hamstring injury in Game 7 against the defending champs—scoring 27 points and the game-winning hoop—but the Clips are listing their leader as questionable for Monday night’s series-opener in H-Town.

Clippers head coach Doc Rivers guessed that it was unlikely Paul would suit up in Game 1 vs the Rockets.

Per the OC Register:

Here’s how he did it – with 27 points on 13 shots, six assists, two steals, a block and one hamstring. […] Oh, and he hit the series-clincher with one second left, somehow banking in a drive over a forest of arms, including Tim Duncan’s.

“This just adds to his legend,” J.J. Redick said. “Twenty years from now, I’m going to talk about this series and this game. And that little guy – what heart he has. It’s crazy.”

Chris Paul limped off the court late in the first quarter, burying his head into his hands before heading back to the locker room. […] “We do everything we can to prepare for a game. You get your rest, you train, you work out, you eat right, try to take care of your body,” Paul said. “And I was just overcome with emotion because I was frustrated, because I was like, all this time, all season long, and then Game 7 my body is going to let me down. That’s what it was all about right there.”
