Dante Cunningham Arrested on Suspicion of Domestic Abuse

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Dante Cunningham was taken into custody early Thursday morning on suspicion of domestic abuse. Per the Pioneer Press and the T-Wolves’ press release:

Timberwolves forward Dante Cunningham was arrested on probable cause of domestic assault early Thursday and is being held in Hennepin County jail, according to jail records.

Cunningham, a fifth-year NBA player in his second season with the Wolves, was arrested in the western suburb of Medina and is being held without bail.

Cunningham, 26, was received at the jail at 6:14 a.m., records show. On Wednesday night, Cunningham had five points, three rebounds and an assist in 10 minutes as the Wolves beat the Memphis Grizzlies 102-88 at Target Center.

The Minnesota Timberwolves today issued the following statement regarding Dante Cunningham:

“We are aware of the matter involving Dante Cunningham and are in the process of gathering more information. Dante will not be traveling with the team to Miami this afternoon. The Minnesota Timberwolves organization takes the matter very seriously and does not condone the type of behavior that is associated with this situation. However, we need to let the legal process run its course, and will have further comment at the appropriate time.”
