Derrick Rose Likely to Sit Out With Hamstring Injury

After tweaking his right hamstring on Monday night while driving to the hoop, Derrick Rose was optimistic that he’d play tonight against the Toronto Raptors. Not so fast, says Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau. Per the Chicago Tribune: “Thibodeau said the Bulls playing their first set of back-to-back games and facing what on paper is a lesser opponent on Friday isn’t factoring into the decision. The Bulls face Central Division rival Indiana at home on Saturday. ‘Every game is important,’ Thibodeau said. ‘I think that’s misguided when you approach it that way.’ Rose said following Thursday’s practice that if the decision is left up to him, he would play Friday night. Asked who makes the final decision, Thibodeau said it’s a collaborative process involving athletic trainer Fred Tedeschi and Rose. ‘He has say in it, Fred has say in it,’ Thibodeau said. ‘We have to trust what Fred says in the end and what Derrick says. He’s slowly improving, but we’ll see where he is (Saturday).’ Rose said he wants to play in every game.”
