Dirk Nowitzki Joins ‘Weird Club’ With Latest Milestone

Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki is the only player in NBA history to mass the following: 25,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, 1,000 blocks and 1,000 3-pointers.

Nowitzki, a self-proclaimed “weirdo”, says the gaudy numbers are indicative of an usual yet well-rounded game.

The future Hall of Famer says his shooting ability and size have separated him from his peers.

Per the Dallas Morning News:

“That’s a weird club, obviously. With one weirdo in it. That usually means that big guys like that are not shot-blockers like me.”

Turning serious, he added: “I don’t know what that means. A big guy doesn’t usually shoot 1,000 3s, so there are some with 25,000 points and 10,000 rebounds, but those big guys don’t usually step out. That’s been my strength my whole career.”
