Draftstreet’s $500 SLAMonline Fantasy Freeroll Starts Tonight

We told you about the one-night fantasy basketball league challenge from Draftstreet.com, giving away $500 in free prizes exclusively to SLAMonline readers. The one-night contest will go down tonight—so be sure to set your lineup and submit before tonight’s games tip off. The contest is free to enter (yes, FREE!) and multiple winners will take home cash, so get set on the details and enter now.

The free contest is salary-cap style drafting, where everyone tries to assemble the best team out of the available players. You will have a $100,000 budget to build a team of 3 forwards, 3 guards, a centers, and a utility player. Each NBA player has been assigned a price based on their expected fantasy performance—you’ll have to use your GM skills, since you won’t be able to afford an All-Star at every position. You can adjust your roster up until the contest starts tonight, November 1 at 7:00pm ET at which time your rosters will lock and the Live Scoreboard will be available.

Check out the team I’m rocking with this week:

From the jump, I knew I wanted to have one superstar to lead my team tonight. Kevin Durant is the 2nd-most expensive player this week (about $1,000 cheaper than LeBron), but I always feel like, to win this kind of contest you need a true stud at the top of your squad. After that, I went for my home town man John Wall and the Unibrow, who should have a monster game against Orlando. As you can tell, I ran out of money at my utility spot, but if Miles Plumlee can give me even half of his opening night outburst, I’ll be happy.

Click here to enter the freeroll! And let me know who you guys are picking tonight. Good luck—you’ll need it.
