Usually a pillar of Super-ior health, Dwight Howard has been diagnosed with a herniated disc and has no timetable for return.
Orlando’s All-League big man has already set a new personal high for missed games in a season (he missed four games last season) and likely won’t play again during the regular season and his post-season availability is up in the air as well.
ESPN has the report:
Magic center Dwight Howard was diagnosed by a doctor in Los Angeles with a herniated disk in his lower back, a team spokesman said.
Howard, who sat out the Magic’s 109-81 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night, officially has been ruled out of Orlando’s game in Cleveland on Sunday.

There is no timetable for his return and it will be based on how he responds to treatment.
Puns aside, Howard has carried the Magic on his back for a minute. We’ll see how the Magic respond with their superstar indefinitely on the sidelines.
