Dwyane Wade Spends Time With Bosh, Johnson

It’s getting old and it hasn’t even begun yet.

Free Agency 2010, hyped since at least 2008, finally begins in under three weeks. For now, though, all we can do is to continue to perpetuate gut feelings, rumors and player sightings.

Today’s fuel was thrown on the fire of speculation by the South Florida Sun Sentinel:

For [Dwyane] Wade, it was the latest stop in a whirlwind week that included time in Los Angeles with Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh and Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson, who also stand as impending free agents.

Wade confirmed that he did, indeed, have dinner there with Bosh and that he spent time at a Brand Jordan event with Johnson. But he insisted he has not been out recruiting.

“I haven’t started recruiting yet,” Wade said with a smile, as fans cheered his arrival at a Publix supermarket.

Wade has consistently fostered the perception that he not only plans to return to the Heat, but that he is hopeful of being joined in South Florida by another prime free agent.

That creates more than a few curious glances when he is seen with the likes of a Bosh.

“My friends are the guys that are in the league,” he said. “Some of my closest friends in the NBA happen to be certain guys that are up in this free-agent market. Yeah, it’s going to be like that. Like I said, I don’t worry about it. I smile and I keep on going with my day.

“Me and Chris have been friends since we came into the NBA. We signed with the same agent. So we can’t eat together? It’s all good. We understand what’s going to come about from anything that goes on. But, no worries, it’s just friends eating dinner.”

Is it, Dwyane? Is it really?
