Former Dallas Mavericks Dancer Suspected of Murder


Erbie Bowser, a former Dallas Mavericks ManiAACs dancer, is a suspect in the shooting murders of four people (which also resulted in injuries to four others.) Per the Dallas Morning News and CBS Dallas / Forth Worth: “Authorities say a grenade-wielding man went on a shooting rampage in Dallas and DeSoto late Wednesday, killing four people and wounding four others. The suspect has been identified as Erbie Bowser, 44. Authorities say it appears he was trying to kill a former girlfriend. It is believed she is among the victims. Officials say the rampage began about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in Dallas at a home in the 7100 block of Long Canyon Trail, near West Wheatland Road and Mountain Creek Parkway. He killed two people and wounded two others there, police said. Toya Smith, 43, and Tasmia Allen, 17, both died at the scene. Two others were transported to a local hospital in critical condition, according to police reports. Bowser then went to a home in the 100 block of Galleria Drive in DeSoto, where he threw a hand grenade into the living room before shooting and killing two women, police said. He also wounded two children before running out of bullets, according to police. […] The suspect has been identified as Erbie Bowser, a former Dallas Mavericks ManiAACs dancer and former special education teacher in the Mesquite Independent School District. Bowser worked for the district from December 2001 to March 2010 at Mesquite Academy and Berry Middle School. He had also been a coach at West Mesquite High School. Bowser was arrested at the scene in DeSoto. Charges against him are still pending. Family members stated that Bowser was looking for his ex-girlfriend at both of the houses.”
