The move is big the Hornets, as GM Dell Demps has been on the hunt for a backup PG. From the New Orleans Times-Picayune: “Desiring to get a proven backup point guard, the New Orleans Hornets traded small forward Quincy Pondexter to the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday in exchange for guard Greivis Vasquez, sources confirmed. The Hornets General Manager Dell Demps had been in discussions with the Grizzlies for the past few days. Vasquez, 6 feet 6, 211 pounds, is a second-year player who averaged 4.5 points and 4.5 assists last season as a rookie with the Grizzlies. Vasquez, who played at Maryland, was the Grizzlies’ first-round pick in the 2010 draft and can play both point guard and shooting guard.”
