How Long Will Joakim Noah Be Out?

No one seems to know for sure, but the smart money says not to expect him back on the court anytime soon. Sayeth the Chicago Tribune: ” Luol Deng missed his first game this season Monday night. Unfortunately,  Joakim Noah missed his 10th of what appears to be many more. Deng had made playing all 82 games a major goal after recent injury-plagued seasons but succumbed to his swollen left knee just over an hour before tipoff. Rookie James Johnson drew his first NBA start and had nine points and two blocked shots in 23 minutes, 42 seconds. As for Noah, the third-year big man confirmed he likely will sit for all three home games this week and the plantar fasciitis in his left foot could sideline him longer. ‘With the treatment I’m doing, it needs time to heal,’ Noah said. ‘I’ll be back. I know that.’ Coach Vinny Del Negro, who had the condition during his playing days, didn’t sound as sure. ‘He could be out a week, two weeks, a month,’ he said. ‘I don’t think it’s going to go away until he gets significant rest. It’s poor timing. You feel bad for Joakim, who is having a tremendous year.”‘
