Iman Shumpert’s Status Unknown for Game 4

by May 14, 2013

Having missed yesterday’s practice and this morning’s shootaround due to a sore left knee, Iman Shumpert’s status for Game 4 is very much up in the air. According to the New York Knicks, Shumpert will meet with a team doctor to determine if he can face the Indiana Pacers in the pivotal game tonight. Per the NY Post: “Shumpert didn’t attend this morning’s shootaround, stayed back at the hotel and Mike Woodson said he will be ‘reevaluated’ Tuesday by the team orthopedist who has flown into town. Woodson said there’s more concern Tuesday because his soreness and swelling is not going away. Woodson said he took a bad fall Saturday night in the Game 3 loss. He came up limping but played on. Monday, Woodson said he didn’t think it was related to his torn ACL that he suffered one year ago. Asked if it was related Tuesday, Woodson said, ‘I don’t know. I’m not a doctor.’ Woodson said Monday he didn’t think an MRI exam would be required. However, things may have changed.Shumpert missed Monday’s practice but thought he was going to play, feeling it was just a knee bruise. […] J.R. Smith and Kenyon Martin, both with flu-like symptoms, showed up to shootaround and are expected to play.”
