Joe Dumars: Pistons Not Looking to Trade Rip Hamilton

Despite incessant calls from fans and media to make a move — any more, really — Joe D swears that nothing trade-related is brewing in Motown. The Free Press reports (via FanHouse): “So what’s it gonna take to turn the Pistons around? Just about everyone would immediately say, ‘they gotta make a trade or two.’ Normally, in the next breath, two names are offered up as trade bait by fans: Tayshaun Prince and Richard Hamilton. AOL’s FanHouse.com’s Tim Povtak spoke with Hamilton after Tuesday’s loss in Orlando. He talked about getting used to coach John Kuester and how today’s team is a totally different situation to contending for the NBA championship. But back to the possibilty of a trade. What say you, Pistons president of basketball operations Joe Dumars? ‘We don’t have anything whatsoever on the table in terms of a trade, or anything even remotely close to a trade, for Rip Hamilton,’ Dumars told FanHouse Tuesday. ‘Nothing.'”
