Karl-Anthony Towns Says He ‘Played Like Crap’ Despite Season-High 32 Points

T-Wolves’ rookie Karl-Anthony Towns finished with a season-high 32 points and 12 rebounds on Friday at Utah, becoming the youngest player since Kevin Durant in 2008 to have a 30-point, 10-rebound game.

Despite Towns’ effort, the Wolves lost the game, 103-90—their 10th straight L on the road and 14th loss in their last 16 games.

Towns was hard on himself—saying he “played like crap,” particularly on the defensive end.

“I played terrible so they were scoring. I couldn’t do nothing. I was like a brick out there for my team tonight. I’m a little upset. I should have done more for us.

“I played like crap today,” said Towns, who has been sick recently. “I didn’t play well defensively. Offensively, I was just finding spots. My teammates were the ones that got me points. I didn’t get myself points.

“When I tried to make something for myself I was missing layups, missing shots. My teammates are the ones that made the stat sheet. I didn’t.”
