Kelvin Sampson Interviews For Pistons Job

We had heard rumors that the Detroit Pistons were interested in Milwaukee Bucks assistant Kelvin Sampson for their head coaching job, and it appears their was some truth behind them, as it’s been confirmed that the former Indiana University and University of Oklahoma head coach recently interviewed for John Kuester’s old job. Via the Detroit Free Press: “Bucks assistant coach Kelvin Sampson interviewed for the vacant Pistons job today. He arrived Thursday and met with Pistons president of basketball operations Joe Dumars at an undisclosed site. Dumars is moving along in his search for the Pistons seventh coach in 12 seasons, but it’s looking like a new coach won’t be in place for NBA draft on Thursday. Celtics assistant Lawrence Frank took his turn Wednesday and former Hawks coach Mike Woodson, former Pistons great Bill Laimbeer and Mavs assistant Dwane Casey are expected later. Dumars has said that there is no timetable.”
