The Celtics center is hard at work on making sure he comebacks all the way healthy. Boston Globe reports: “Kendrick Perkins’s focus is on returning to the basketball court. For the first time in his career, he has sustained a major injury, and the rehabilitation is an arduous and challenging process, forcing the Celtics center to abandon every other basketball thought until he’s healthy. To return as quickly and as soundly as possible, Perkins has spent the last six weeks sequestered in Texas, taking the initial steps in recovering from knee surgery. …As of now, Perkins walks without crutches but is using a rather substantial knee brace during workouts. He cannot run and has not done any basketball activities. His goal is to return in January. The team is expecting him back in February or March. ‘I’ve been doing a lot of rehabbing, make sure I get my work in every day,’ he said. ‘Make sure I keep my weight down, just taking it one day at a time. The swelling in my leg went down so everything’s coming around pretty quickly. Right now I can’t work out like I want to, I can’t hoop. But everything else is doing great. It’s not an easy process, but I am just taking it one day at a time and put all my focus into my rehab. Don’t think about coming back, don’t think about returning. Just keep it one day at a time. That’s all I can do, keep it simple and work hard to come back. We have all got the same goals in mind and that’s what’s important. I don’t care who’s on the court to get that ring.'”
