Kevin Durant Finds His Torrid Scoring Run Unremarkable

OKC Thunder superstar Kevin Durant has been putting up silly numbers of late – an average of 36.9 points in the last 12 games, 30+ points in nine consecutive games, and so forth. Durant claims that he’s not overly impressed with his MVP-like play, and credits other historical performances as being worthy of more praise. Per the Oklahoman:

“Yeah, after every game I’ve been getting 30 to 40 texts,” Durant admitted.

But of course, Durant, always the politician, says he is not overly impressed with his recent stretch, instead ushering the spotlight to some other legends.

“I’ve seen Kobe Bryant score 40 points in nine straight games,” Durant said. “Michael Jordan have 11 triple-doubles in 12 games. LeBron James have a month when he’s averaging 35 points. So those guys, that’s something to write home about.”

What about your streak? Is it something to write home about?

“No, not at all,” he deadpanned.
