Kevin Durant No Longer Worried About Shooting Percentages

OKC Thunder superstar Kevin Durant became obsessed with his shooting percentages last year, but he seems a lot more relaxed about the numbers (and other pressures) this season. Per the Oklahoman: “Last season, Kevin Durant’s quest for the holy grail of shooting efficiency — 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from 3-point range and 90 percent from the free-throw line — was well-documented. And throughout the eventually successful process, Durant seemed well-aware and even consumed with the feat. But this season, with the milestone already on his resume, Durant said he’s less concerned about the percentages and more focused on his offensive aggression. ‘I just like how aggressive I am, no matter if I’m making shots or if I’m missing them,’ Durant said. ‘I’m not always going to shoot 50 percent or over 40 percent from the 3-point line. Free-throw percentage, I got to be better at that. But 3s and regular field-goal percentage, I just try not to worry about it and focus on being aggressive for my team.’ Entering play on Tuesday, Durant was shooting 47 percent overall, 37 percent from the 3-point line and 88 percent from the free-throw line.”
