Knicks to Ink Thanasis Antetokounmpo to Two-Year Deal

Another Greek Freak is on his way to the NBA—the New York Knicks are reportedly finalizing a two-year deal with Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Giannis’ older bro.

Thanasis Antetokounmpo showed flashes during Summer League, displaying a relentless motor and athleticism that seem to run in the family.

The contract will be partially guaranteed for the 23-year-old.

Per the NY Post:

The Knicks are finalizing a deal with Thanasis Antetokounmpo which could be done as soon as Thursday.

Antetokounmpo, who is the older brother of budding Bucks star, Giannis, was selected in the second round of the 2014 draft by the Knicks. Antetokounmpo, 23, had an up-and-down season in the D-League and was erratic in the summer league, as well. Antetokounmpo passed up lucrative deals in Europe last summer to play for $25,000 in the D-League. He has been an enigma, with a boatload of energy, but low basketball IQ and an erratic jump shot.
