Kobe Bryant 85% Sure He Will Play Tonight (UPDATE)

Color us shocked. Kobe Bryant, despite being officially listed as a game-time decision due to a sore right foot, basically confirmed to reporters that he will suit up against the Dallas Mavericks tonight: “Kobe went through everything in shootaround, testing his foot, and will see how it responds before determining if he’ll play tonight. Kobe asked what percentage chance he’d play tonight: ’85 percent.’ Clearly, he’s optimistic the foot will respond to work out. So it’s good news on Bryant’s foot; we will check again at Staples around 6 p.m. Mike Brown said he looked fine at shootaround. Kobe: ‘If it’s not going to get worse it’s one of those injuries you can play through and heal as you play. If it gets worse, you can’t go.'”

UPDATE: Kobe says he is going to play. Via his Facebook page: “‘Feeling good enough to play tonight! I’ll use my strong midsoles for added cushion on the foot for more protection. Looking forward to this journey as I’m sure you are. It’s Go Time.'”
