LaMarcus Aldridge Strained His Left Quad

by October 04, 2013

Portland Trail Blazers star forward LaMarcus Aldridge hurt his left quad during a team practice on Wednesday. There’s no word yet when Aldridge will be back on the court. Per the Oregonian: “It’s been an ominous 24 hours for the Trail Blazers. Over the last two practices, two players — All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge and backup guard Will Barton — have joined Mo Williams on the team’s injured list. Aldridge was the first, and most worrisome, to run into trouble, as he pulled up lame during a Wednesday evening workout at the practice facility in Tualatin. During an on-court running drill, Aldridge encountered discomfort in his left leg and had to be pulled from practice. There was some initial confusion about the nature of the injury. At first, following Thursday’s practice, the Blazers labeled it a left hip flexor strain. But later in the day, Aldridge tweeted that he suffered a strained left quad. Either way, Aldridge did not practice Thursday. ‘There was no contact,’ Blazers coach Terry Stotts said of the injury. ‘It was just kind of (like) a sniper got him.’ When Thursday’s practice was opened to reporters in the afternoon, Aldridge was riding a stationary bike watching his teammates scrimmage. Stotts said he did not know when his two-time All-Star would be available to return to practice, but acknowledged that it would ‘take some time.’ It’s possible Aldridge will miss the Blazers’ annual ‘Fan Fest’ scrimmage on Sunday night.”
