LeBron and Sprite Unveil “Uncontainable” Field to Boys & Girls Club Members

From our friends at Sprite:

Orlando, Fla. – To celebrate the announcement of The Sprite Uncontainable Game, LeBron James, Sprite and The LeBron James Family Foundation held a special event at the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida – Walt Disney World Clubhouse on All-Star Saturday, Feb. 25. Continuing their collaborative effort to leave a lasting impact on each host city long after NBA All-Star Weekend, James and Sprite unveiled a new athletic field to the young people and staff in attendance. In addition to the revamped soccer field, baseball diamond and picnic area, donated items included sporting equipment such as bats, basketballs, gloves and soccer nets. After Boys & Girls Club members performed skits and dance steps for the crowd, James joined approximately 200 youth in dedicating the new recreation area with his signature pre-game “chalk clap” routine.

The event comes on the heels of All-Star Friday’s launch of Uncontainable Game, a new Sprite program that includes six NBA players – LeBron and Kobe Bryant from the U.S., Andrea Bargnani from Italy, Al Horford from the Dominican Republic, Omri Casspi from Israel and Serge Ibaka from the Republic of Congo – to discover 24 amateur ballers who will represent either Team Sudden (LeBron’s team) or Team Intense (Kobe’s team) in the Sprite Uncontainable Game next year at NBA All-Star 2013 in Houston. “Uncontainable” is all about representing personal style and expressiveness – traits LeBron discussed with the Boys & Girls Club – and qualities Sprite will be looking for around the Globe over the next year.

More than 27 countries are on the Sprite Uncontainable Game search roster including the United States, China, Mexico and a host of European and African nations.
