In what’s become his custom the last few years, with the postseason getting underway, LeBron James unplugged himself over the weekend from the world of social media and the relentless 24/7 sports media cycle.

James claims that he’s “unaware” of a perceived shot from Pat Riley, saying that his entire focus is on the Cleveland Cavaliers’ first round Playoff matchup with the Boston Celtics.
LeBron isn’t concerning himself with the bitter feelings back in South Beach.

“Whatever he said, for me, that’s not really my concern right now,” James said this morning following shootaround in preparation for tonight’s Game 2 of an Eastern Conference first-round playoff series against Boston. “My concern is Game 2, but I have no notion of what transpired yesterday.”
Riley never clarified the “smiling faces” reference, but it was widely interpreted as a reference to the drafting last summer of guard Shabazz Napier, who was a favorite of James. […] Following James’ group session with reporters, a Miami-based reporter filled James in on what was said.
“I don’t have no phones, no social media, I don’t have anything,” James said, explaining he sees his family and teammates in person and can get messages to family members when he’s on the road. “Because I don’t care about nonsense. There’s too much nonsense out there. Not during this time, this is when I lock in right now and I don’t need nothing creeping into my mind that don’t need to be there.”
