Lou Amundson Signs With New Orleans Hornets (UPDATE)

UPDATE: As expected, the Hornets have inked Lou Amundson. The deal is for the remainder of the season. Per the press release: “The New Orleans Hornets announced today that they have signed center Lou Amundson for the remainder of the season and released Henry Sims. Per club policy, terms of the contract were not released. […] Sims was originally signed on March 3, 2013 and appeared in two contests as a Hornet averaging 2.0 points and 1.0 rebound in 2.5 minutes per game.”

According to Lou Amundson, he’s not interested in inking another 10-day deal with the Chicago Bulls. Amundson will instead sign with the New Orleans Hornets, where he expects to get more playing time. Per Fox Sports: “Chicago was prepared to sign me to another 10-day, but I felt I should go somewhere where I can get a better opportunity to play,’ Amundson wrote in a text message. Amundson signed a 10-day deal with the Bulls on March 2. But he played just two minutes in one game while not appearing in four others. The Hornets needed a big body after power forward Jason Smith recently was lost for the season with a shoulder injury.”
