Marcus Camby Injures Ankle

Everyone predicted this would happen when Marcus came to Portland. The good news is that it’s not deemed serious: “Camby was hurt when Nets center Brook Lopez stepped on his ankle as both waited for a rebound a little more than 5 minutes after the opening tip. X-rays were negative and coach Nate McMillan did not think the injury was serious. ‘I contested a shot [by Devin Harris] and I think Lopez stepped on my ankle,’ Camby said. ‘My momentum went the other way. It is pretty sore right now.’ Camby was acquired on Feb. 16 from the Los Angeles Clippers for Steve Blake, Travis Outlaw and cash considerations because of season-ending injuries to centers Greg Oden and Joel Przybilla. ‘Hey, Camby, welcome to Portland,’ McMillan said referring to the Trail Blazers’ injury-plagued season. ‘It’s amazing what our guys are going through. I think he’s going to be OK.”‘
