Mario Chalmers to Miss Up to 2 Weeks

Chalmers’ knee injury isn’t as bad as initially thought, and he should be back in the Heat lineup before the regular season ends. From the Sun-Sentinel: “Diagnosed with a sprained right knee, Chalmers underwent an MRI Sunday and is now expected to miss up to two weeks, which would sideline him for six games. The Heat have 12 games remaining in the regular season, which ends April 13. After bumping the knee with Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson earlier in the first quarter Saturday, Chalmers fell to the court without further contact later in the period, removed with 1:07 to play in quarter. Chalmers attended the Heat’s annual Family Fest charity event Sunday, walking with a limp. Chalmers has been the fulltime starter at the position since Jan. 22, after starting one game prior to that in place of since-departed Carlos Arroyo. Counting Saturday’s victory, the Heat are 19-9 with Chalmers in the starting lineup.”
