Mavericks Suspend Delonte West Again and ‘Indefinitely’

by October 25, 2012

For the second time this month, the Dallas Mavericks announced that they have suspended backup guard Delonte West. There’s no timetable for his return. West has written some of his thoughts on the matter on his Twitter page. Per the Dallas Morning News: “We have suspended Delonte for conduct detrimental to the team,’ President of Basketball Operations Donnie Nelson said. ‘The suspension is effective immediately and no other statements will be issued.’ That was the bulk of the release just issued by the Mavericks. […] West suffers from bipolar disorder, but he is supposed to be on medication to help control that problem. After a home game earlier this preseason, West was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team when he avoided the team on the bench and then made matters worse in the locker room afterward.”
