Metta World Peace to Have Knee Surgery and Out for 6 Weeks

It turns out that Mike D’Antoni’s pessimism regarding Metta World Peace’s knee injury was well founded. The Los Angeles Lakers announced today that MWP will undergo surgery and miss the next 6 weeks: “Metta World Peace, who injured his left knee in Monday night’s game, will have surgery Thursday for a torn lateral meniscus.The surgery will be performed by team doctors Steve Lombardo and Dan Kharrazi. MWP is expected to be out a minimum of six weeks.”
