Nicolas Batum Questions Derrick Rose’s Defense

by February 08, 2011

What’s with the Blazers taking shots at All-Stars this season? Batum became the latest, as he knocked DRose’s defensive ability following the Portland victory last night. From The Oregonian: “[Andre] Miller finished with a season-high 27 points, 11 assists, six rebounds and four steals, making a season-high 13-of-13 free throws. Chicago’s dynamic point guard, All-Star Derrick Rose, rightfully received most of the hype entering the game and he lived up to the billing, finishing with 36 points and six assists. But it was Miller who walked away with the victory — in part, Nicolas Batum says, because of Rose’s defense. ‘We know that Derrick Rose is a good offensive player,’ Batum said. ‘But you have to play defense, too. He can’t guard Dre. You gotta play defense. He can’t play defense, so that’s why we put Dre inside and try to attack him. He did a great job. Had 25 (points) and 11 (assists) tonight.'”
