Sacramento Kings Fined by the NBA for Tampering

It turns out that the third team fined this week by the NBA for tampering with soon-to-be free agents was the Sacramento Kings. The Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks also received slaps on the wrist from the League (the fine amounts were undisclosed.) Per the Sac Bee: “During his introductory news conference as the Kings’ new coach June 3, Michael Malone said point guard Chris Paul ‘would look good in a Kings uniform’ in response to a question about his relationship with the Clippers’ free-agent-to-be. Malone was an assistant coach in New Orleans when Paul played for the Hornets. ‘The Kings organization accepts the league’s decision and regret any infraction of the policy,’ team spokesman Chris Clark said.”
