Scottie Pippen on Kawhi Leonard Comparison: ‘It Makes Sense’

Kawhi Leonard is having a dominant season, destroying opponents on both sides of the ball. He’s the best player on the second best team in the League and his individual awards (Finals MVP, DPOY, All-Star) speak for themselves.

Leonard’s play has been good enough to catch the eye of Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen. Pip took to Twitter to share his feelings on the similarities between himself and the Spurs star:

Through five seasons, Leonard’s career averages are 13.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.8 steals, 0.7 blocks and 50 percent shooting from the floor.

Through the first five seasons of Scottie’s career, he averaged 15.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 2 steals, 1 block and 49 percent shooting.

Scottie’s fifth season saw him post 21 points, 7.7 boards, 7 helpers, 1.9 steals, 1.1 blocks and 50 percent shooting. Leonard’s career-year has him putting up 20.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.8 steals, 0.9 blocks and 50 percent shooting.

Not a bad comparison indeed.
