Scottie Pippen Questioned By Police Following Fight (UPDATE)

UPDATE: After a Sunday night fight which sent a man to the hospital, and with the possibility of charges hanging over everything, Scottie Pippen has turned himself in. Reports the Chicago Tribune: “Pippen had been at the Nobu Malibu restaurant on the Pacific Coast Highway when a fight broke out between him and the man around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, said Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County sheriff’s office. ‘He came in to be interviewed, he’s been cooperative,’ said Whitmore. By Monday afternoon, Pippen had been questioned by police and was cooperative, said Whitmore. Pippen was allowed to leave without being charged, said Whitmore. ‘Mr. Pippen will not be arrested, there’s more here than meets the eye,’ said Whitmore. He said the investigation was continuing. ‘We have to investigate and check with all the witnesses and find out exactly what happened,’ said Whitmore. Earlier, Pippen was named as a suspect and was facing possible charges of assault with intent to cause great bodily injury, Whitmore said. Witnesses told police Pippen got into an argument with a man in the parking lot of the restaurant near a valet stand, Whitmore said. ‘That argument led to an altercation,’ Whitmore said. ‘Our detectives are investigating this right now.’ Pippen left the restaurant after the fight, Whitmore said. The other person suffered head injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and released, Whitmore said. Whitmore denied reports that Pippen had been arrested. ‘We are speaking with everybody, including Mr. Pippen,’ said Whitmore. ‘Right now he is not under arrest, he has not been booked.'”
