Semih Erden Reportedly Leaving Cavs to Play for a Turkish Team

Semih Erden is leaving Ohio and taking his talents back to Turkey, according to the Plain Dealer: “Restricted free agent center Semih Erden has signed a two-year contract to play for Turkish team Anadolu Efes of the Euroleague, according to an NBA source. Erden, 25, averaged 3.5 points on 53-percent shooting, and 2.6 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per game last season. The Cavaliers extended a qualifying offer to the 7-footer last week, making him a restricted free agent. By doing so, the team can match any free agency offer — from an NBA team. By signing with the Turkish team, Erden is not constrained by NBA rules. Erden played in Turkey until the 2010 season, when he signed with Boston. He arrived in Cleveland via a mid-season trade in 2011, amid rumors that he was homesick and would soon return to Turkey.”
