Shane Battier Inspired By NFL Fight

Apparently, Battier likes watching dudes throw down (though not necessarily on top of his dome, mind you.) He credits Andre Johnson’s brutal fight against Cortland Finnegan for his strong play against the Thunder. From the Houston Chronicle: “Shane Battier went from one of his worst offensive games of the season to perhaps his best. He made 1-of-9 shots in Charlotte before hitting 7-of-11 to score 18 points, including the game-winning running jumper on Sunday against the Thunder. Battier said he was inspired after seeing Texans receiver Andre Johnson, fresh from his fourth quarter fight with Cortland Finnegan. ‘I saw the champ,’ Battier said. ‘The champ goes from a tough game, showing what it means to be a fighter, coming, sitting courtside at the Rockets tonight. I saw the champ. After the crowd got hyped, I got hyped. The champ is responsible for this win. I will roll with Andre Johnson every day of the week. That fired me up when I saw him.'”
