Stephen Curry Plans to Re-Sign With the Warriors

You’re not gonna believe this, but Stephen Curry very much enjoys being a member of the Golden State Warriors, and has no intention of leaving the Bay Area next summer.

Curry, 28, says it’s a no-brainer to re-up with the Dubs when he becomes a free agent on July 1, 2017.

The back-to-back MVP warned reporters that his answer will remain the same no matter how many times they ask him about his future plans.

Per the San Fran Chronicle:

“I want to be back here,” Curry said Tuesday afternoon after Golden State’s first practice of training camp. “I like playing here. That’s it.”

Curry, 28, is in the final season of the four-year, $44 million deal he signed when coming off ankle injuries in 2012. The team’s fourth-highest paid player at $12,112,359 this season, he could sign a long-term contract in free agency that would more than double his current annual salary.

“My answer’s not going to be any different all year,” Curry said. “You can keep asking me, and I’ll have the same answer.”
