Stephen Curry Says the Warriors Have the Best Backcourt in the NBA

Golden State Warriors All-Star guard Stephen Curry likely won’t engage in the war of words between the backcourts in Cleveland and Washington, but in his opinion, the Curry-Klay Thompson duo is the best backcourt in the NBA.

Speaking of being the best, Curry wants to challenge his new head coach Steve Kerr to a three-point contest.

Per the San Fran Chronicle:

Curry on why he and Kerr haven’t had a three-point contest yet: “He’s blaming it on his knees not being ready to take on that many jump shots. He got up and down pretty well in a couple of three-man weaves to demonstrate how we need to get the drill done, so his knees looked good today.”

Curry on Beal and John Wall being the league’s best backcourt: “What was he supposed to say? I would have said the same thing (about us). It was just like the thing with LeBron this summer. What are you supposed to say? I would say we’re the best backcourt. He’s going to say it. Russell (Westbrook) said he was the best PG yesterday. Everybody has got to be confident. If he would have said he had the second-best backcourt in the league, I probably would have gone over there and ragged on him all day.”
