Stephen Curry Will Play in Game 3 Despite ‘Uncomfortable’ Elbow Injury

Stephen Curry banged up his right elbow after he dove into the stands in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals.

He ended up with tennis ball-sized welt, but stayed in the game and scored a team-high 28 points in Golden State’s 118-91 victory.

Curry was wearing a compression sleeve in Friday’s practice, but he said his elbow is fine despite feeling “a little uncomfortable.” This is good news for the Warriors, as the injury won’t prevent Curry from playing in Game 3 on Sunday.

From the San Francisco Chronicle:

The Warriors are scheduled to fly to Oklahoma City on Saturday morning and practice there a day ahead of Sunday’s Game 3. Game 4 will be Tuesday, and Curry isn’t expected to be listed on the injury report for either game.

Curry wore a compression sleeve on his bruised right elbow, but he was a full participant in Friday’s practice. He said he has full range of motion and described the injury as more uncomfortable than painful.

“It doesn’t cause any problems mechanically, so I can still use my arm and do what I need to do,” he said. “It just looks ugly and is a little uncomfortable.”
