Stephen Jackson Fined for Trade Demand

by September 16, 2009

You’re apparently not allowed to publicly voice your desire to play for another team. (And because I know someone will bring it up, here’s the reason Kobe didn’t get fined two years ago): “The swingman was fined $25,000 for ‘public statements detrimental to the NBA,’ the league said Tuesday. On Aug. 28, Jackson said he would like to be traded to Cleveland, New York or one of the Texas teams. ‘Players are not permitted to make trade requests publicly,’ the league said.”
