Syracuse Lands 2014 Five-Star Recruit Chris McCullough

Yesterday, Syracuse received its fourth verbal commitment in the last three weeks when Chris McCullough, a 6-8 power forward from the Bronx, N.Y., became the first from class of 2014 to give a verbal pledge to the soon to be ACC school. From the Post-Standard: “Chris McCullough, one of the top high school juniors in the country, visited Syracuse University back in August. After taking a few months to ponder his decision, McCullough cut his recruitment short on Monday. He committed to Syracuse in a telephone call with SU coach Jim Boeheim. “When I was on their campus, I felt I was at home already,” McCullough said Monday. “They showed me the most love. I felt like I fit in there.” McCullough is one of the highest-rated players in the Class of 2014. He’s ranked 9th by, 10th by and 17th by The 6-foot-8 forward, chose Syracuse over offers from St. John’s, Connecticut, Memphis, Kansas, Rutgers, Louisville and many more schools. McCullough, a native of the Bronx, currently attends Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H. That’s the same prep school that Ron Patterson, a 6-3 senior guard, attends. Patterson committed to Syracuse while on an official visit to the school on Saturday. “I talked to Ron,” McCullough said. “I asked him if he liked it. If he saw us both fitting in there. He said we’d both fit in good. We’re both athletic players.” McCullough is the first player from the Class of 2014 to commit to Syracuse, but he’s the fourth high school player to choose Syracuse within the last three weeks.”
