With a chance to win back-to-back titles for the first time in his brilliant career, Tim Duncan put aside retirement thoughts during the offseason.
The 38 year-old Duncan admits, though, that it wasn’t an easy decision returning for his 18th NBA season.
Per the Express-News:
“The actual number is mind-blowing,” he said. “But to be back here again and to see it start up and feel it start up again, it feels like it’s been a long time.”
“There was some hesitation there,” said Duncan, who had an option at roughly $10.4 million on the final year of his latest deal. “But it came back to maybe being able to do (win the title) again. As long as I’m feeling I can, and I feel good about it, this is where I want to be.”
“I feel good,” he said. “I had a good summer of work and I think I’m in pretty decent shape conditioning-wise. I look forward to getting out and playing more basketball.”
