Tony Parker Day-to-Day With Ankle Sprain

After Tony Parker limped and struggled through a 10-point, 5-for-14 shooting performance in Game 4, San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich announced that his star point guard has a Grade 1 left ankle sprain. Per the Dallas Morning News:

“He’ll be day-to-day,” Popovich said. “We’ll see how he is [Wednesday for Game 5].”

Grade 1 is the least severe sprain. They sometimes can sideline players for a few days, but some players heal faster and some have a higher pain tolerance.

Parker is averaging 15.5 points and 4.5 assists in the series. With Mavericks 6-7 forward Shawn Marion guarding him, Parker has appeared to wear down late in games.

In this series’ fourth quarters, Parker is averaging 2.0 points, 0.7 assists, 6.5 minutes and has made four of eight shots.
