Ty Lawson Arrested for Physical Harrassment and Criminal Mischief

Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson was booked and charged on Saturday night, due to an alleged domestic violence incident. Per the Denver Post: “Lawson’s girlfriend, Ashley Nicole Pettiford, was also arrested, Grayson Robinson, Arapahoe County Sheriff said. A mandatory restraining order was issued after charges were filed surrounding a domestic violence incident, according to court records. ‘They were yelling at each other and broke each other’s phones,’ Robinson said. ‘I don’t believe it was physical otherwise.’ Both parties were charged in the incident, Robinson said. The fight took place in Lawson’s home, Robinson said. It is unclear who called authorities. Lawson, 25, appeared in Arapahoe County court Monday to be arraigned on the charges, according to court documents. He is free on a $1,000 bond, according to court records. Lawson said Monday on Twitter that reports of his arraignment are ’20 day old fish.’ This is the second time this year Lawson has been arrested. According to court documents, Lawson was arrested Jan. 29 for a warrant issued in July of 2012 for failure to appear in court. In that case, Lawson was charged with driving under restraint and careless driving, for which he was cited in April 2012 in Arapahoe County. […] Tim Connelly, the Nuggets general manager, said in a statement: ‘We are fully aware of an incident involving Ty Lawson over the weekend. Per team policy and out of respect for the legal process, we will have no further comment at this time.'”
