by August 07, 2012

Dennis Lindsey will step into Kevin O’Connor’s old spot, as the new general manager of the Utah Jazz. Per the Salt Lake Tribune: “Dennis Lindsey was officially named general manager of the Jazz on Tuesday morning. Lindsey will work under Kevin O’Connor, who’ll take the title of executive vice president of basketball operations. ‘To partner with Kevin [and] to have a mentor is very important to me,’ said Lindsey, during a press conference at the team practice facility. O’Connor spent 13 seasons as Utah’s GM and was the second-longest tenured in the NBA before relinquishing his title. ‘People are going to ask me why the move now, and this has been in the works for a while,’ said O’Connor, who stressed he’ll ‘continue to be here’ but will turn all day-to-day Jazz activity over to Lindsey. […] Lindsey previously served as vice president/assistant general manager in San Antonio, joining the Spurs in 2007. He spent 11 years in Houston, including five as vice president of basketball operations/player personnel. Lindsey joined the Rockets in 1996 as a video coordinator/scout, and was in line to become Houston’s next GM before the position went to Daryl Morey in 2007.”
