Wade: ‘This Will Be My Last First-Round Exit for a While’

Dwyane was visibly (and understandably) upset following the Heat’s elimination from the Playoffs last night. Feel free to read the tea leaves from his comments to the assembled press regarding his future: “After scoring 46 points in Sunday’s lone Heat victory in the series, Wade clearly was spent. By anyone else’s standards, Wade’s final line of 31 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds would be considered winning numbers. And they would have been, if he had teammates such as the Celtics’ Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. Instead, he ended his season alongside rental properties such as Quentin Richardson, who, it was learned, played in Tuesday’s series finale with a torn ligament in his left thumb sustained Sunday. ‘This will be my last first-round exit for a while, I’ll tell you that,’ Wade said, stopping short of definitively committing to a future with the Heat, as he heads into this summer’s free agency.”
