Zach Randolph Likely to Miss Time Due to Bruised Knee

Z-Bo suffered a scary-looking right knee injury against the Chicago Bulls, but the hope in Memphis is that he won’t miss too many games. Per the Commercial Appeal: “The practice door swung open Monday and Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph emerged, dragging his leg because of a bruised right knee. Today, Randolph hauls his injured knee to the doctor for magnetic resonance imaging that will determine the extent of his injury. Randolph is believed to have a bruised medial collateral ligament, which usually is nothing serious. However, barring miraculous healing, the Grizzlies’ power forward will sit out tonight’s home game against the Sacramento Kings. Randolph still experienced swelling in the knee Monday. He didn’t practice and walked with a serious limp. Randolph is listed as day-to-day, although it appears he’ll need a little time off to recover. ‘I don’t know when he’ll be back,’ Griz coach Lionel Hollins said. If it’s just a bruise, then Randolph could return to action before the end of the Grizzlies’ three-game road trip that starts Wednesday at Minnesota. A worst-case scenario is that the MCL bruise serves as an indicator to a more severe injury.”
