The Georgetown Hoyas athletic department announced in a press release on Thursday that Hollis Thompson will enroll for the spring semester, half a year earlier than
anticipated. The California native is not expected to suit up for Georgetown this season. The spring semester begins on January 7.

The 6-6 forward who was currently attending Loyola High School in Los Angeles committed to Georgetown in back in November of 2007 as part of class of 2009. At the time he was also considering Arizona, UCLA, Duke and Wake Forest.

“Hollis will enroll for the 2009 spring semester,” said head coach John Thompson III in the press release. “There are no plans for him to play, but he will practice with the team as he acclimates himself to college life. We feel this will be an exceptional opportunity for Hollis. It gives him a chance to adjust to life on and off the court before he begins intercollegiate competition in the 2009-2010 season.”

Hollis is the only commit the Hoyas currently have in the class of 2009.
