Florida State Guard Aaron Thomas Turns Pro

Aaron Thomas’ career at Florida State is over. ‎After being deemed ineligible for the remainder of the season earlier this month, many felt that he would merely sit out the remainder of the season and return for his senior campaign. That was not the case. Today, Thomas announced that he would start his career, signing with Seth Cohen of Versus Management Group.

“I am excited to begin my pro career. I will continue to work really hard every single day,” Thomas told SLAMonline. “I am in great hands with Seth and the entire Versus team.”

Thomas’ departure will be a huge blow to Florida State, as he was the team’s leading scorer at 14.8 points per game. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard played his high school ball in Cincinnati at Aiken and Withrow, ultimately finishing up with a post-grad year at Brewster Academy.

While it is clear that Aaron will begin his professional career immediately, he hasn’t even decided what continent he”ll be playing on.

“We are currently evaluating the offers that I have overseas‎, but the D-League is also an option,” he admitted to SLAMonline. “It will not be long before we make our decision.”

He added, “‎I’ve been working really hard and am ready to go.”
