Quincy Miller Commits to Baylor

by Ryne Nelson

By now, you should know the name… Quincy Miller, SLAM’s High School Diarist and No. 1 player in the Class of 2010, will be taking his talents to Baylor next season.

The 6-10 forward, who patterns his game after Kevin Durant, narrowed his field to five schools in his latest SLAMonline diary earlier in the month, and quickly made it a three-horse race between Duke, Baylor and Louisville.

Deuce Bello, Q’s close friend and fellow Top 50 recruit, also announced today that he will be joining the Bears next season in Waco, TX.

Even with LaceDarius Dunn’s season in question, the Bears should contend for the top spot in the Big 12 as well as challenge for the National Championship. SLAM HS All-American Perry Jones may realize his pro potential after just one season, but look for the Bears to stay very relevant for a long time.

In addition to Q and Deuce’s commitment, Baylor already has a verbal from arguably the best big man in the Class of 2012 in Isaiah Austin.
