Kentucky Lands Five-Star Forward Sacha Killeya-Jones

Virginia’s loss is Kentucky’s gain, as five-star power forward Sacha Killeya-Jones that he’s heading to Lexington next year.

Killeya-Jones, who is the No. 18 recruit in the country according to 247 Sports, committed to UVA on January 1, 2015. However, Killeya-Jones decided to decommit from the Cavaliers on June 2, and picked up an offer from John Calipari 10 days later.

On Wednesday, Killeya-Jones officially announced that he’ll join the Wildcats’ 2016 class.

Lynchburg (Va.) Virginia Episcopal School 5-star power forward Sacha Killeya-Jones committed to the Wildcats Wednesday morning.

 

The versatile 6-foot-10 big man had a very strong AAU travel/showcase season, which included impressive performances at the NBPA Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville, Va. and at the Adidas Summer Championships, where he leaded Team Loaded Virginia to the tournament title in Las Vegas.

 

His play in the spring and summer fueled Killeya-Jones’ rise in the rankings, from a fringe top-50 prospect to No. 18 overall in the 247Sports rankings.
