Greg McClinton (‘13) Verbally Commits to Wake Forest

Greg McClinton, a versatile 6-7 swingman in the class of 2013, today verbally committed to Wake Forest University. McClinton played at Winston-Salem Prep (NC) for three seasons, averaging 19.7 points and 10.3 rebounds during his junior campaign, and will play his senior season at Hargrave Military Academy (VA). He chose the Demon Deacons over Louisville, Xavier, UConn, Virginia Tech and Miami. Scout.com has the details: “McClinton has been on the national radar for a while. He made waves with the CP3 All-Stars during the summer circuit which led to numerous offers. Now he knows he will be headed to Wake Forest. ‘Yes I have committed to Wake,’ said McClinton. Despite a lot of other interest from other programs, allure of staying close to home and playing for the team he grew up watching proved to be the difference. ‘I grew up a Wake kid and it has always been a dream of mine to play there,’ McClinton explained. According to McClinton upon returning from the NBPA Top 100 Camp he spoke with his mother and decided the time was right to make the decision. ‘I decided last night when I was talking to my mom,’ said McClinton. ‘I just felt it was the right decision for me.’”
